It’s March! What’s in season this month?

Spring is just around the corner, and I’m really looking forward to the days getting longer, roll on 30th March 2025, it can still be chilly and tricky to prepare for.

British Pie Week (3rd-9th March): A week dedicated to celebrating all kinds of pies, having been introduced in 2007 by pastry manufacturer Jus-Rol.

Pancake Day (4th March): Also known as Shrove Tuesday, it’s the day before Lent begins. I love a pancake as you can put all sorts of toppings on top. I’m very traditional, I like lemon and sugar! but hazelnut spread with fresh strawberries are also a top favourite in my house.

Mothers day – 30th March – A day to honour and appreciate all mums and mother figures in our lives.

During March, you can enjoy a variety of seasonal fruits and vegetables. Here’s a list of what’s in season:

  • Banana
  • Beetroot
  • Bramley apple
  • Cabbage
  • Carrots
  • Chicken
  • Kale
  • Leek
  • Broccoli
  • Rhubarb
  • cauliflower
