Ingredients
  

  • 85 g margarine
  • 55 g soft dark brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp golden syrup
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 100 g self raising flour
  • 2 tbsp semi skimmed milk

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 180°c/gas 4. Put 12 cake cases into a muffin tray and set aside.
  • In a mixing bowl add the margarine, sugar and golden syrup and whisk together until light and fluffy.
  • Add half the egg and mix together, then mix in half the flour repeat with the remaining egg and flour and mix until all combined. Add the milk and stir together.
  • Spoon the mixture into the paper cases and bake in the oven for 15-20mins or until risen and spring back when pressed in the middle.
